# Housing 4 Lincoln
Housing should not take more than 1/3 of what you make.
The campaign for housing affordability in Lincoln.
Like much of the country, the capital city in the state of Nebraska has a housing crisis. There’s a lack of safe, affordable housing for many residents in Lincoln. It’s a problem that’s only getting worse with the increasing cost of living. And most people in the city simply don’t know about the issue or the scale of the problem.
To raise the issue of housing in Lincoln (most people don’t know about it) and to promote solutions (if we solve this issue, it benefits the entire community), we created a campaign around housing adequacy and affordability in the city.
We worked with a team of community organizers and housing advocates at Nebraska Appleseed and Civic Nebraska. They brought their knowledge of the issue while we brought a fresh approach and a frame for the campaign to be used in their communications strategy.
For the core slogan, we focused on the need for people to speak up for the universal right of housing. Nebraskans are a neighborly bunch, and when asked, they’ll do what it takes to ensure their friends and neighbors are doing okay.
The campaign was designed around a strong logotype, bright color palette, and simple imagery to help emphasize housing. There’s sparks for urgency and a grassroots sensibility.
We delivered brand assets for print and web along with language to help guide the communications moving forward.
No one should spend more than 1/3 of their income on a place to call home. #Housing4Lincoln
Working together, we can make that a reality for all Lincolnites.
